Jean Walsh Wright

Jean Walsh Wright has been the proprietor of Becconsall Stables for the last 31 years and having built up a successful riding school Jean is also one of the country’s top producers of show horses and is a British panel show judge.

Jean has shown horses and ponies from when she was 9 years old: some of the more famous are:-

Ashwell High Society (Large Hack) twice winner of Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) in the late 70s.

Golden Promise (Large Hack)

Hocus Pocus (Large Hack) Showed for CTR Plastics

Gold Mark (Large Riding Horse) many wins including Reserve Champion at Royal International Horse Show (RIHS) at NEC Birmingham.

The Minstrel (Champion Large Riding Horse) White City

Bournvill (Large Hack) many times champion; always highly placed HOYS, RIHS; was also the national champion.

The most famous was Blue Max (Heavyweight Cob) prolific champion for 8 years including Champion at the Royal, Great Yorkshire, Royal Lancashire etc: Always in the top 3 at HOYS and RIHS.

Geronimo (Lightweight Cob)

Northern Light (Large Hack) top class hack for 8 years. Many times champion. Was foundation mare for Becconsall breeding stock producing four foals:- Northern Reflections, Northern Promise (brood mare), Northern Heritage, and Northern Melody.

Northern Reflections (Small Hack) wins include Supreme Champion at The Royal as a 3 year old and many times Ridden Champion Hack. Always highly placed at HOYS and RIHS. Now being used for breeding

Northern Heritage (Large Hack) holder of many championships; always placed at HOYS and RIHS.

Northern Melody (Large Hack) wins include Champion at Cheshire County Show, Three Counties Show. Winner of the RIHS in year 2000.
